"Why do some teams perform better than others and how can we know in advance which teams will perform better?"
TeamUp is a unique and high end "serious game" for team training and team assessment. Four
players need to self-organize, communicate, collaborate and arrange team
communication, coordination and leadership in order to solve five levels of
puzzles/team challenges. This may require different and alternating forms of
leadership and self-organization. In the scenario, the players find themselves stranded
on a deserted ‘Maya ruined’ island. They need to get to the other end of the island
in order to be picked up. The game logs in-game team performance data (such as time, distance and errors), which are used in combination with team structure and team quality factors for debriefing and assessment of teams and players. Video capturing of team communication is possible at request. The whole game takes around 45-90 min to play. Including start up (15 min) and debriefing (1-2h) a full fledged TeamUp workshop takes around 3 to 4 hours. A TeamUp workshop can be an independent learning or training event, or it can be part of a bigger event - such as a conference, curriculum or training course. We can also extend the workshop with other game-based modules.

For whom is it? |
|
I never play computer games! |
The game is engaging and meaningful for players all ages (17-70), male or female, working at all levels of experience (junior to senior). You do not need previous computer-game experience. Even better! Navigation in the game is easy (mouse and arrows). You may need to get used to it, in the beginning. We are sure, you can do it!

When? Where? How? |
The exact date and location will be announced. The workshop will take place in Shanghai, at the end of August. The complete workshop will take about four and a half hours. Can I play the game myself? How can I obtain the game software? |
The game cannot be downloaded or played online. It is always played in a moderated workshop fashion with teams of four players. A commercial license that will give you the right to use the game for your own training and learning purposes can be acquired from the company Simulation Experience. Instruction and training in how to set-up and moderate the game yourself can also be acquired. A short, single player demo version for communication and sales purposes is available.
